OUR CORPORATE SOCIAL INVESTMENT PROGRAMS
In the vibrant, wounded heart of South Africa, where the echoes of history mingle with the dreams of a hopeful tomorrow, Cocoon Consulting emerges as a beacon of transformation, deeply committed to weaving social good into the fabric of this diverse nation. With a vision as expansive as the rolling savannas and as tender as the hands that cradle a child’s future, they seek to mend the fractures in our society poverty, inequality, and fractured opportunities through purposeful, heartfelt action. Cocoon Consulting yearns to be a catalyst for change, not merely an organization but a movement that breathes life into communities, ignites curiosity in schools, and fosters unity in organizations across the Rainbow Nation. They envision classrooms where young minds bloom like spring jacarandas, communities where hope rises like the dawn over Table Mountain, and workplaces where every voice is a thread in a stronger, shared tapestry. By partnering with local leaders, educators, and changemakers, Cocoon Consulting pledges to listen, uplift, and empower, planting seeds of progress that will grow into a legacy of healing and connection. With every project, they aim to touch hearts, transform lives, and stitch together a South Africa where every soul feels seen, valued, and inspired to rise, together, toward a brighter, more equitable future.
WALK A CHILD 2025
In line with our values and commitment to social upliftment, CoCoon Consulting launched a grassroots initiative titled “WalkAChild with CoCoon.” The ‘WalkAChild with CoCoon' initiative was conceived by Ms. Rhoda Mthembu, the Managing Director, following a community information session held in Beaufort West, located in the Western Cape. Witnessing school children with deteriorating school wear motivated her to effect positive change. Her teams and her unwavering commitment to this cause inspired a collective effort to give back to the communities encountered through their professional work. Despite being a relatively young organisation with just three years in operation and functioning as a salary-based consultancy rather than a profit-driven business, we remain committed to creating lasting social impact. We are humbled by the trust placed in us and the generosity shown by our fellow South Africans. What began with a simple flyer circulated via WhatsApp in December 2024, and a humble goal of collecting 100 pairs of school shoes, culminated in the donation of 69 pairs by the end of March 2025. Contributions came in various forms: vouchers, cash, and direct shoe purchases. On 07 May 2025, we had the privilege of distributing the collected shoes to identified schools in the Amajuba District:
• Newcastle: 26 pairs to Siphesihle Primary School
• Dannhauser: 16 pairs to Spookmill Primary School, 2 to Thathunyawo High School, 6 to Black Bank Primary School, and 10 to Greenock Primary School
Witnessing learners attending school in torn shoes at the onset of winter was profoundly moving and further ignited our resolve to do more. Learners occasionally face teasing due to inadequate footwear, which can result in their reluctance to attend school and may ultimately lead to dropping out, all because of the condition of their school shoes. This donation will significantly assist in removing these children from the streets and facilitating their return to the classroom. The provision of school shoes is a critical yet frequently neglected component of a child’s educational experience Looking ahead, CoCoon Consulting is in the process of establishing a foundation. We hope to attract partnerships with established businesses, including those interested in aligning with Corporate Social Investment (CSI) goals and benefiting from SARS tax exemptions. In the interim, we invite anyone willing to support or partner with us to visit our website at www.cocoonconsultingsa.co.za or contact us directly. This initiative elicited an overwhelming response from teachers, parents, and students alike, who expressed their gratitude for the generous support provided. Mr Sibusiso Zondo, principal at Spookmill, so aptly described our team: “Uhlanga Olukhethekileyo” – A rare and chosen calibre. As CoCoon Consulting, we would like to thank all colleagues, friends, relatives and service providers who took from their pockets and household budgets and donated to the good cause. An act of selfless giving that we do not take lightly. Together, anything is possible. One school at a time, one province at a time, we aim to make change.
